Anthony Bogart, B.S. Ed., Owner/Director
Anthony began his yoga journey 30 years ago and has studied Sivananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Anusara Yoga. In 1988 Anthony spent an intensive year at the Rocky Mountain Institute of Yoga and Ayurveda, The Yoga Workshop and the Colorado School of Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. In 1993 Anthony became a Certified Iyengar teacher and in 1998 was Certified Anusara. Throughout the 1990's Anthony led groups into the back country of the southwestern United States on quests of nature and self-discovery with Mind Body River Adventures. In 1998 he traveled to Pune, India for an intensive month of study at the Iyengar Institute. And just last November, 2007 he taught a ten-day Anusara Yoga Retreat in Laxman Jhula, India.
Anthony's teaching is challenging on all levels, yet compassionate, inviting students to enjoy heart opening experiences. As owner of Yoga West LLC for over ten years, Anthony offers classes is yoga asana, Tantra philosophy, pranayama and meditation as well as private therapeutic sessions. His newly revised therapy manual "Health and Freedom, Transforming Illness and Injury into Opportunity" will soon be available for purchase on the Online Store, the studio and workshops. Anthony has developed an elegant asana practice and a unique teaching style. He teaches workshops and retreats in the U.S. and abroad.
Sarah Hutchinson, R.N., B.S., RYT 500, Anusara Inspired, Anusara Certification Candidate
Sarah has been an R.N. for almost 30 years, came to yoga for the health benefits and quickly fell in love with the Anusara method. Studying with Anthony, John Friend, Desiree Rumbaugh and Douglas Brooks since 2002 has taken Sarah throughout the U.S. and Mexico, as well as into her heart and all those tight places in her body/mind. The physical and energetic openings continue to nourish and inspire Sarah to live fully, fearlessly and gratefully. Sarah's classes use the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment and Tantric Philosophy to invite her students to Open to Grace: using story, the breath and playful asana. Beginning and experienced students alike are invited to explore the inner and out body while meeting new friends and enjoying the community of the heart. Sarah also teaches Kids Yoga in the public schools, offers workshops and private therapy sessions.
Susan Crosby, O.T., R.Y.T., Anusara Inspired
Susan is an Anusara Inspired teacher and a graduate of Anthony's Level 1 Anusara Teacher Training and Anthony's Anusara Therapy Training. Susan's classes focus on asana and breathwork to bring healing to the mind, body and spirit. Using John Friend's Universal Principles of Alignment she is able to help students of all levels connect with their own inner healer and experience joy and lightness in their hearts.
Julia Jakubowski, B.A., R.Y.T., Anusara Inspired
Julia has completed Anthony's Apprenticeship Program and Level 1 Anusara Teachers Training and Therapy Training. She is supportive and nurturing and her understanding of poses will inspire students to reach for their highest potential. The development of the whole person and a sense of belonging to the community of the heart is evident in her class. She welcomes new and continuing students.
Christopher Lepisto, N.D.
Christopher is a long-time student of Anthony's and a practicing Naturopathic Doctor. He has recently trained with Jason Nemer and Jenny Sauer-Klein, the originators of Acro Yoga. Christopher's "Partner Play" yoga class is athletic and challenging. He draws on fundamentals of the Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment for maximum safety. With a background in ballet, dance and movement, Christopher emphasizes mindful transitions as well as freedom of expression.
Suzi Potratz, Hatha Instructor
Suzi began her study of yoga in Japan. She has studied Iyengar Yoga, Anusara Yoga, Anthony's Therapy Training and has participated in Laughter and Therapeutic Yoga trainings. In Suzi's words "I believe yoga is more than a practice...it is a mindful way of life." In class she focuses on inner balance, mental calm and purified awareness. Suzi blends her varied yoga experiences to create a unique class. She welcomes beginners of all ages and continuing students.
