ANTHONY began his yoga journey 30 years ago and has studied Sivananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar and Anusara Yoga. In 1988 Anthony spent an intensive year at the Rocky Mountain Institute of Yoga and Ayurveda, The Yoga Workshop and the Colorado School of Yoga in Boulder, Colorado. In 1993 Anthony became a Certified Iyengar teacher and in 1998 was Certified Anusara. Throughout the 1990's Anthony led groups into the back country of the southwestern United States on quests of nature and self-discovery with Mind Body River Adventures. In 1998 he traveled to Pune, India for an intensive month of study at the Iyengar Institute. And just last November, 2007 he taught a ten-day Anusara Yoga Retreat in Laxman Jhula, India.
Anthony's teaching is challenging on all levels, yet compassionate, inviting students to enjoy heart opening experiences. As owner of Yoga West LLC for over ten years, Anthony offers classes is yoga asana, Tantra philosophy, pranayama and meditation as well as private therapeutic sessions. His newly revised therapy manual "Health and Freedom, Transforming Illness and Injury into Opportunity Using the Five-Step Process" is available for purchase on our Online Store, the studio and workshops. LIBBY is an Iyengar Teacher in Training and a RYT 500 with the Yoga Alliance. Libby has taught throughout the Grand Valley since 2004. Her practice and teaching style has evolved under the many years of continuous compassionate teachings of Nancy Stechart, a Senior Iyengar Instructor. In her classes, Libby emphasizes awareness in the body and thoughts. ABBIE is an Anusara-Inspired instructor with a focus on yoga as a therapeutic modality. Her teaching approach infuses detailed attention to alignment with playful sensitivity and seeks to help students cultivate awareness of how yoga empowers them both on and off the mat. KATHY is a Certified Trainer with the International Center for Nonviolent Communication. She has an M.A. in counseling, is a Certified Massage Therapist, Reiki Master/Teacher, Certified Yoga Teacher and is trained in Breath Work. She currently facilitates individuals, couples, businesses and organizations in utilizing Compassionate Communication. She is excited to be part of the YWC and offers a variety of classes to support self-awareness and fulfilling relationships. DEA has taught classes, workshops and private sessions in Western Colorado since 1995 and has studied Yoga for 25 years. She has been published in the Fibromyalgia Health Letter and the Journal of International Association of Yoga Therapy. Her approach is to help make yoga a relevant experience for each student. Her training has been influenced by the therapeutic approach of Iyengar teachers Judith Lasater and Elise Miller, and the intuitive teachings of Angela Farmer and Donna Farhi.
